Grounded in street art, he works across various forms including public art, graffiti, murals, and drawing, reinterpreting local stories and traditions through contemporary imagery. He connects the culture, people, and memories of Gangneung through art, expanding traditional heritage and culture into contemporary artistic expressions. He communicates through various art projects by presenting the unique stories of the region through new perspectives and diverse media.
As a visual artist, she explores the traces of memory left by humans and nature through stones, the sea, mythology, and ecology. She develops local myths, environments, and the stories of disappearing beings into painting, installation, and video works, expressing the values of the cycles of nature and humanity and sustainable coexistence. Through the intersection of nature and regional memory, she continues to present new perspectives on life and the environment.
Working primarily with installation, video, and sculpture, she explores the relationships and boundaries between humans, nature, and civilization. By reconstructing found objects and materials from an ecological perspective, she creates new meanings and expands her artistic practice through various creative content. She continues to explore the meaning of relationships and existence by viewing everyday objects and experiences from new perspectives.
Based on memories and everyday landscapes, she creates works centered on the themes of “Hello,” “Bright Longing,” and “Hope Despite Everything.” Through creative activities and art education, she communicates with diverse people through art, creating works that convey warmth, empathy, and comfort. She delicately captures small moments and emotions from daily life, creating connections and shared understanding through art.
Graduated from the Department of Western Painting at Sungshin Women's University and completed the doctoral program. Currently teaches Contemporary Painting in the Department of Western Painting, College of Fine Arts at the same university. Has held 18 solo exhibitions at major museums and galleries in Korea and has actively participated in group exhibitions and domestic and international art fairs. Received the Grand Prize at Cyart Gallery in 2018 and the 11th Park Jun-yong Young Arts & Culture Award in 2020. Currently active in various fields, including artistic practice and arts education.
