As part of the Arts Council Korea's International Collaboration Support Program, the PharmaResearch Culture Foundation has invited Argentine artist Eduardo Navarro to develop an international artistic exchange project inspired by the ecology and literary heritage of Gangneung.

Eduardo Navarro's practice begins with an intuitive sensitivity to the environment and energies of a place. Rather than approaching a landscape through history or information alone, he develops his work by paying close attention to its subtle signals and hidden rhythms. Through meditation, contemplation, and an intimate dialogue with nature, his practice invites us to imagine how plants, animals, and many forms of life connect and communicate with the world.

For this project, Navarro's artistic approach will serve as a way of exploring the many layers of Gangneung's landscape, nature, and climate. Beyond its physical environment, the project seeks to uncover the accumulated memories, histories, and sensory experiences that shape the identity of the place. In turn, the project aims to provide audiences unfamiliar with Gangneung with an opportunity to encounter its unique atmosphere and character.

Furthermore, the project seeks to build a network between researchers from a range of disciplines and culminate in a publication that brings together drawings and observations inspired by the artist's encounter with Gangneung's landscape and rhythms. Through this process, the Foundation hopes to open new possibilities for international collaboration while creating a space where Gangneung's rich cultural and natural resources can inspire new artistic practices and conversations across borders.
